Stripers for the Future with Professor John Teidemann from Monmouth University

October 21, 2021 @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

The goal of Stripers for the Future is to educate anglers on how they can contribute to the conservation and long-term sustainability of the striped bass fishery.  We believe that understanding striped bass biology and proper catch-and-release techniques should be a key piece of every angler’s education.

In this session, Professor Tiedemann will discuss information on the life history of striped bass, the results of studies focused on striped bass conservation and management, and review scientifically-based recommendations on best practices that can reduce angler-induced stress and increase survival of released striped bass.

John Tiedemann is the Assistant Dean of the Monmouth University School of Science and Director of the University’s Marine and Environmental Biology and Policy Program.  His work over the past 40 years has addressed a breadth of marine and environmental science and resource management issues in our region.  When not at work, he can be found surfing or fishing along New Jersey’s northern coast.
